Akata Warrior

Akata Warrior is a science fiction novel set in Nigeria. The protagonist is Sunny Nwazue, a young girl who has been brought up in America after her parents were killed in Nigeria. After her parents were killed she was sent to live with her grandparents in Nigeria. When Sunny is eleven, she discovers that she is the last living member of the "Akata" clan, a group of people with supernatural abilities. The book follows Sunny's journey as she learns about her new powers and how to control them.
