We are Blood and Thunder
We Are Blood and Thunder by Kesia Lupo is a fictional novel that tells the story of a young woman named Sophia, who returns to her childhood home in the summer of 1948. Sophia's journey is one of healing, hope, and transformation. The novel is told in first person narrative from Sophia's perspective, which allows the reader to feel as though they are in her head. As she travels through a world that has been turned upside down by the war, she struggles to find herself in this new place. The novel was written during a time when women were finally able to enter the workforce and be seen as equals to men. It's interesting to note that while this novel deals with many feminist themes, it also portrays the struggles of being a woman in 1950s America.
